I will start differently…. Please accept firstly that demotivation is not Ok, but you or anybody from your Team CAN feel it. You or me - we are not the only one feeling demotivated sometimes (the permanent demotivation is a different topic). Speak up. Whether it’s talking to a friend, a colleague, your manager or a mentor – speaking about it will help. Without speaking up culture and active leasing skill from the side of leader it may not happens. Build this ground earlier to be ready not only for demotivation appearance but for any of issues which have mental roots.

There are many reasons this can happen, as a leader be intentional in proactively monitoring signs of disengagements, be mindful about the internal and external factors that may have the potential of demotivating the team. Here is what I have done in similar situations: * Figure out the root cause, how deep it has impacted the team, whether its internal or externally induced. * Have a multi-pronged approach to address the situation, have a short term goal to improve the morale along with long term goal to either address or prevent the specific situations that have caused this. * Accept the situation, engage in dialogue, have focused discussion with key members. * Look for opportunities to celebrate the team, build psychological safety.
