While the unstructured trial and error learning can be inefficient or infeasible to explore things when there are a large number of choices available, RL provides an efficient way to explore the different options while ensuring improvement in the ability to choose good options.

What would be better is if the student had reliable and dense rewards during practics, from say, an automated agent.
