How can Quality Managers increase team performance?

In my experience clear communication can play a vital role to improve the team performance. Involved them to the goals of the company letting them make their own decisions and make them accountable for their work last but not the least avoid micromanagement.

In my point of view, it starts with a clear alignment with top management and how Quality culture is driving financial results. Based on this, we can explain to the organization why Quality goals and standards are important and all organization should live quality, not only one department. It's key to explain how can everybody can contribute, empowers the team and create ownership to achieve Quality goals

In my experience, To make your team work better, start by setting clear goals and quality standards. Quality managers need to tell their team what's expected, how to meet those expectations, and why it's important. This helps everyone understand what good work looks like, motivates them to do their best, and connects their efforts to the overall vision and values of the organization. When everyone knows what quality means and why it matters, they're more likely to take responsibility for their work and aim for excellence.

One thing I have found helpful is to create clarity by organising a workshop with TEAM on setting goals during beginning of the year inline with organisation's goals. While defining goals one should focus on value addition, standardization, process improvement, bench marking, digitization & lessons learnt which can help to raise the bar along with setting standards on YoY basis. Some of the leadership behaviours associated during process are collaboration, effective listening & communication, ownership mindset, ONE TEAM.

Team performance is catalyzed by many factors especially by their management paradigm, as most managers think that overloading their teams with many tasks will make them give their best and perform their maximum. While it's the other way around, take into consideration that not all of your team members have the same capability, skillsets and performance, taking this into account and delegating tasks accordingly, will ensure that the team's capabilities are been used efficiently. Developing training programs to cover the team's needed skills and providing those programs, will help level up their skills, and increase team engagement and loyalty, which in turn increases their performance and production.

This is a “Do” on how to lead a team, keep the team motivated and increase team performance. Feedback is critical, and a lot of time, effort (and ultimately money) can be saved by a single conversation where someone points out, very clearly, something that isn’t working as it should. Receiving it is as important as giving it, and they’re essential for everyone to grow, in career terms and personally as well. Keep communication with your team also open in this regard and ask them for their thoughts. Engaged people are motivated people who perform better at their work. An open line of communication is one of the essential elements of effective leadership.

Provide regular Feed back to team members is very important to know the their transparent feedback . there is two type feedback - positive and negative . positive feedback give the motivation and negative feedback give opportunities for improvements . why start a rewards and recognition program? In general, western culture has always attached only to the appearance of the final results, leading people to stay in a comfortable zone and not to take risks and make mistakes. By the time we have a plenty of competition and these solid cultures needed to break the appearance and make a deep dive into the teams and team leaders. I believe this is the hottest topic nowadays, because there is no formula. What I try to do is to really work with what I feel naturally engaged, resonating the company and/or project goal with my own individual goals, trying, making mistakes and trying it again, without retaliation, because this is the natural innovation and collaborative mindset.
