Emotional intelligence is divided into four main components: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. Self-awareness involves recognizing your own emotions and their impact on your thoughts and behavior. Self-management is about controlling impulsive feelings and behaviors, managing your emotions in healthy ways, and adapting to changing circumstances. Social awareness entails understanding the emotions, needs, and concerns of others, while relationship management involves the ability to develop and maintain good relationships, communicate clearly, and inspire and influence others.

Start conversations making sure everyone in the rooms feels their views will be heard. Be natural, express your emotions, without emotions taking over, when leading the conversation allowing the other people in the room to gain confidence. Emotional intelligence means being aware of your emotions and not allowing them to govern. Its not always easy so taking a step back to understand where they are leading you. It is ok to say you are not comfortable, or you feel xx way, but dont let emotions govern the room. In the entrepreneurial journey things break, which bring stress (emotions) to the table. Address emotions, channelling them towards solutions. Let people feel by leading in a natural way. This creates an environment built for success.

To build successful entrepreneurial relationships, practice active listening. This means fully concentrating on what is being said rather than just passively 'hearing' the message of the speaker. Active listening involves listening with all senses and giving full attention to the speaker. It is crucial in understanding the underlying emotions and intentions in business communications. By showing genuine interest in the speaker's perspective, you not only gain valuable insights but also establish trust and respect, which are fundamental for strong business relationships.
