One example: I found it always helpful to set expectations ahead of any important joint dates. Chief among them is the date of recording the episode. I always try and make sure that the time works for them and that it's on a generally open day for them, to reduce the likelihood of rescheduling. If a guest gets into the habit of rescheduling often (e.g: 3 times) we agree to rain check the episode recording for a couple of months to allow other guests a chance to come on the show and the original guest to have more visibility on their schedule before we re-attempt.
