It is easy to focus so much attention on the actual training content that you overlook the environment. If the logistics suffer, so does the ROI of the training. I've led trainings in some horrible environments... poor lighting, no natural light, too hot/cold, poor projection setup, lousy food, no snacks, etc... and you can just feel the engagement of the participants suffer. Spend the extra money on creating a great learning environment!

It amazes me how often training occurs in an organization but at no point afterwards is the ROI measured. Why did we provide this training? What change in behavior did we want to see occur? How can we measure the before and after of this behavior? Simple formula but often ignored.

Then trust your gut and the information gathered and be 100% open to feedback to make better decisions next time!
