With a master's degree, you'll acquire specialized skills that are highly sought after in the sustainable design industry. You'll learn how to conduct life cycle assessments, master sustainable building practices, and develop proficiency in sustainability-focused design software. These skills not only make you more competitive in the job market but also allow you to contribute to the industry in a more meaningful way.

In my opinion a master degree can sometimes be a waste of time. If you implement a mindset of continuous learning and make a habit of seeking out specific information to your field. You can find almost any resources online, courses, youtube, podcasts. There are so many ways to learn new things today and you can hand pick what is truly beneficial to you. Whereas a masters degree will be put together for you, probably not all of the information in the project will be relevant to what you want to do.

As a Masters student graduate I completely agree , there was a lot of encouragement to be creative to think of creative solutions. I personally was interested in sustainable design and I was able to have many different professors push me and guide me to projects I was proud of. That being said when it comes to research I felt like my bachelors of science provided me with a great foundation of research and in many ways structured the method I would use to create convincing arguments on behalf of design decisions. This is just to say if you find yourself in a science degree and are interested in a masters I found it somewhat helpful and shouldn’t be a deterrent.
