Ensure they feel like this analysis is being led by them, with you acting as a supporting figure.

As a team lead, one ought to be agile and flexible to changes. Requirements of the customer and/or internal stakeholders will keep changing. The changing requirements need to be communicated transparently with the team. Their buy-in is the most important.

When changing plans remember the project management triangle of: scope, budget, time. To get back on track you need to identify which is the most important of these parameters I.e. if scope is key, can you extend the deadline or increase the budget to get the project completed with the same scope?
