Otra que realmente cambió todo fue PowerBI, en mi caso hoy prácticamente no uso PPT y prefiero presentar más dinámico en MarketBI, la primera plataforma BI de CRE en sudamérica

Tools are all nice. Any financial modeling and scheduling program will do. You have to look at the other constraints. Government approvals, labor relations, physical constraints, logistics. There is never one thing. You need to assemble a good team, an attorney, an architect, a civil engineer, and an internal person to act as a project manager. Then the financial model can make sense.

When I was hired by my current employer to provide real estate analysis, all I had was Excel - which was close to impossible to do anything spatially related. I urged my VP for GIS and we successfully made the business case, getting the software that year. After that, within the same year, I made the recommendation for mobile location data, which Real Estate was already getting sporadically through brokers. We made the investment to subscribe for this data too. Today, both tools provide a wide range of critical location and customer analytics data & insights we didn’t have a view into but do now. Both are integral tools used daily for all real estate analysis. Without them, providing location analysis would be difficult.

Your people are your best asset for any project. Build your team with the required experts to effectively solve whatever challenge you’re evaluating. Bringing a diverse group of people together ensures a varied level of input and perspective which will help shape the optimal solution. Ask plenty of questions of yourself and each other. Challenge the traditional route. Don’t overcomplicate things.

Call me old-fashioned … engaging with people and with your own observational abilities means that you’ve used the best tools … everything else can map, analyse and shape the observations but you need to first “kick the bricks”, see and feel the property and you must read the property-files
