Growth Mindset Improved Through The Mediation of Cognitive Competences It is my belief that a human can not have a growth-mindset without having received sufficient Mediated Learning Experiences which prepares them to deal with the cognitive challenges confronting them as they enter school and the world. Research findings reveal a significant positive correlation among a growth mindset,and a fully mediating role of well-being in the relationship between a growth mindset and learning engagement. Mediated learning involves asking questions rather than providing answers to a learner. The mediator encouraged “thinking.” This creates a growth mindset.

Growth Mindset and Mediated Learning Experienced I have learned over my vast career as an educator and my training in Literacy and Cognition that students who have not received sufficient Mediated Learning Experiences are not prepared to deal with the cognitive challenges confronting them as they enter school and are thus unable to benefit from the wealth of classroom experiences offered (Ben/Hur,1998), which can lead to a fixed mindset. Through a mediated learning experience, teachers induct students into ways of thinking and learning by making explicit how to express ideas, seek help,Contest opposing positions, reason cogently, and, in so doing, they help students to generate new ways of thinking and doing;ie, a growth mindset.
