What is the optimal battery design for space applications?

Type, size, voltage, current, amperage,life span, chemistry property, all these specification to determine during battery design.

Battery testing and characterization are essential processes to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of batteries. These processes involve a series of tests and analyses to ensure that batteries meet specified requirements and standards.

There are several types of BMS systems available on the market yet, some are still custom designed. I use a mix of COTS and designed. BMS's are becoming even more important with Li-Ion chemistries. Li-Ion's cell voltage window of operation must be monitored. A type of charging system called CVCC, must stay within the batteries voltage and current limits, which is why an electronic BMS is important. No different for space applications or using in an electric vehicle.

The battery’s performance and characteristics may change dramatically in out-space environment with supper low temperatures and sometimes supper high temperature if getting sunshine.
