There are two ways any skill can be built - firstly, structured course work which is either online or offline, secondly, practical exposure through work experience in similar role. When it comes to learning and building the skills of a project manager, online courses are quite useful. Certain certifications, such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) and Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) are quite useful and popular which can be taken to build a project manager's skillset.

If you do not have an opportunity, start with doing shadow support for the project manager of your project and slowly take up new challenges. 2.
