The design tool must offer the basic required features to model the part for additive manufaturing. Since additive manufacturing is preferred for building intricate shapes of a component without any material losses, the CAD tool must offer the necessary commands for building such designs. The tool should also offer generative modelling and topology optimization features to help reduce the weight without affecting the stability of the component. The tool should also offer a visual study which should provide basic rendering functionality to help visualize the final model after 3D printing for enabling the designer a sense of realistic feel to minimize errors.
