We should always keep it simple by starting it off with the basic 5 W and 1 H queries. Example : What: To create a safe, ethical, and inclusive AI language model that is aligned with common sense ethical and moral standards. Who: AI researchers, developers, and users Where: Everywhere where AI is used When: As soon as possible Why: To ensure that AI is used for good and to minimize the potential for harm. How: By developing and implementing safety guidelines for AI development and use, and by working with AI researchers and developers to ensure that their models are aligned with these guidelines.

In my experience, for a successful product strategy, the most important step would be to have a worldview of the hypothesis about the problems to be solved. This includes clear goals, thorough competitive and market research for the customer problem. These foundational steps of the product strategy will lead to the roadmap for the product execution.

When beginning to craft a product vision, identifying and understanding your target market is the foundational element of a successful product. However, understanding not just the target market but insights into the target market are also equally if not more valuable. The time of a defined market that can be described by certain parameters of boundaries has gone and now for the innovative products that we are building, the target market is a collection of patches of various markets. A clear understanding of your target users, their pain points and jobs to be done helps you tailor your product to meet their specific requirements resulting in higher chances of success.

Defining our target market was crucial, pinpointing whom our product serves and the challenges it addresses. A white-paper, authored by our CEO, provided us with the beginning of a product strategy to develop. The team delved into our client's needs, aspirations, pains, and behaviors to curate a solution that resonated with them. To achieve this, we employed product strategy tools that helped us construct personas, conduct user interviews, administer surveys, and consider market research. This ensured that our product vision was anchored in real-world insights, ensuring that every feature or improvement was tailored to genuine user experiences and needs. Once development began the process shifted to maintaining relevance.

A compelling value proposition articulates the uniqueness of your product that benefits the customers not only in their desired way but beyond that and doing so creates points of difference and results in unmatched customer delight.

Two things that will help you with Value Prop - 1. Format: Call out the before-state, pain point, solution, and the after-state. Just like Elon did for Tesla Solar - 'Global warming heading towards disaster> No other safe and reliable way to get energy> Tesla Solar > Safe and reliable power - never worry about electricity again!' 2. Validation: Validate your value-proposition with your prospective users even before investing in product development. This will save you a lot of pain in the long run!

The roadmap supports the team through the usage of various canvases, themes and OKRs to communicate effectively and drive success without fail.

Once those are established, your roadmap should outline the steps and features that will help you achieve those objectives. It doesn't mean testing only the outcomes but also means that we should revisit what influences the outcomes such as our vision, value proposition, target market, etc. so we have an iterative process in place that is not fixed in any way and provides a way to pivot at point if met with failure or undesired outcome. Gathering feedback from users and stakeholders, analyzing data, and making data-driven decisions allow you to adapt and improve your product over time. Embracing an iterative approach ensures that your product remains relevant and competitive in a dynamic market.
