How do you maintain team morale during change?

Transparency goes a long way when it comes to business changes. High Performance teams function on mutual trust and respect. The fact that I found my team capable enough to handle the reality of the situations goes on to say " I trust you, let's overcome this together". I believe in making everyone part of the solution.

It's ok to say, "I'm not sure", or "I don't know what will come next". It's honest and disarming. Communicating this helps everyone know that change is an evolutionary process that often gets figured out along the way. Re-evaluate at each milestone or when things get stuck and you can't reach a milestone. Make sure everyone knows how far they have come already and where the end goal is (and how the end goal may have moved). When customers are involved, always make sure to talk about how the end goal will utlimately benefit the customers, too.

In my experience, dealing with change in the organisation is very unsettling. What makes dealing with this easier is clear communications and doing proper due diligence with respect to what has changed and how the new process of doing things will be like.

Celebrate milestones: Acknowledge and celebrate small wins along the way. Recognize and appreciate the efforts of your team members during the change process. This boosts morale, encourages motivation, and creates a positive atmosphere. Encourage an open mindset: Promote a growth mindset within your team, emphasizing the potential for personal and professional growth that comes with change. Encourage a positive outlook, resilience, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities. Foster teamwork: Encourage collaboration and teamwork during the change process. Help your team members support one another and offer assistance when needed. When individuals join forces, they can overcome obstacles and adapt more effectively.

Agree that communication is vital to secure good understanding of change needed and address any issue that may arise from the change. Focus on benefits and purpose of change and seek their patience to accept the change and eventually realise the purpose and benefits.

Absolutely! If everyone is part of the problem, then they all should be a part of the solution as well. People work at different levels and on aspects of the business, what someone sees at an Analyst level, the Director would not know of it and vice versa. So it is very important to ensure all have equal contribution and partnership in the change process

It is true that employee are the main cog that ensure success of the organisation and must be involved in the change process to enable them give correct feedback on the process,which make them own and be part of the change process.

Rewards and Recognitions are a way to say, we value you. A leader taking time off during the times of change to write a few words of appreciation for the people, says he/she cares. Recognition can also be in the form of giving them the space and chance to present their idea, make them feel heard, make them feel part of the team that brings in the change. The fact that the leadership listens and debates on their ideas would go on to say, " You are important and we are listening"

Employee's world over appreciate when there effort and inputs in project are recognised by the authorities,these give them morale to do even better and tag the team to achieve the set goal.

A positive organisational culture would enable colleagues to bring the best version of themselves to work. If they are given opportunities and responsibilities and held accountable for the same and recognised for their effort, they will leave no stone unturned in being there for the organisation in rather turbulent times. A leader should always give hope and aspirations to people, should see the positive in all situations and empower all others to see the same.

A grounded culture play a very important role in the success of any organisation,as it creates a healthy work environment where teams feels valued and empowered to use there potential to innovate and come up with distruptive technologies that help in solving humanity problem,hence make world a great place to live in. Culture also help organisations to have strong brand identity in there area specialization,which leads to high productivity.

change is a process that is difficult to know the outcome before the process as a team member your role is about motivating your team that there is nothing that is static so they should reorient their intuition about change. That change result may not be immediate, however, it is the best experience to also wish for. support them with everything they need and continue motivating them with intrinsic and extrinsic benefits. Let them rehearse and prepare for the change effects.

You will only be able to maintain the morale of your team if you truly believe yourself that the change happening is for betterment. You as an individual should keep your morale high as the team can read between the lines when you communicate with them. It also depends on the time taken for transition for change that is taking place. In case transition is quick - it can be relatively easy. However if transition is lengthy - there is a need for constant connect with the team providing the updates regularly. The impact should be grouped and explained as - Impact on individual - Impact on team - Impact on process The immediate and long term impact should be conveyed clearly and every doubt of each individual should be clarified patiently

Listening to what the team says and the way they behave. Pay attention to clues of discomfort and frustration. Express genuine concern for team members and let them know that you are there to listen. Encourage them to freely express what they are thinking - both the good and the bad. Likewise, find someone outside the organization you can talk to, vent to, and bounce ideas off of. Remember to take some steps back and re-evaluate the changes and the direction you're going, too.

It's very easy to lose track of the personal needs of your people, especially when the business is not doing well or going through any major change. Changes can be taxing for everyone and it is important that we hold all hands and leave no one feeling stranded or directionless during these times. Checking in with people, noticing small things like someone working extra late hours, conveys a message to the people that "We care for you, now and till the time you are with us". To know that my leader is looking after us is a great boost in itself.

I totally agree to this article,change sup out our energy, physically, emotionally,and phycologicaly hence the need to take great care of all team members who are affected by the change, through team support, counselling,paid vacation,leave,and break off.

My experience has been that it is important to balance the need for transparency and information against the impact of too much information to the team who may fear the change. Organisations that are too secretive about what is coming (even if it is not positive for all staff) will lose the support of the team on the journey. This is a fine line for leaders who need to implement the change, but keep the team informed and on board.

One important thing that organization should do during change is that to share their teams all updates about the change and let their employees to know where they will be in new organization chart that will help to reduce their fear.

One of the most important thing is to be transparent, empathetic and authentic. Teams really respect the transparency and be treated like adults rather than with baby gloves.
