In a fast paced work environment, risk assessment has to be a continuous activity. More and more people must be engaged in carrying out risk management process because a lot depends on individuals risk perception and evaluation of potential outcomes. Hence more the people involved better the result.

I think we need to consider why we are making a policy and what is the intended outcome of having a policy. If it is just to hang on a wall and serve as a 'we have a policy' then reconsider! What is the problem you are trying to solve and assess what you NEED from a risk and a people perspective. Collaborate with your people who are representative of your brand/business. Don't let it serve as a boring piece of paper!

In fast-paced environments, an effective safety policies involve clear communication, tailored guidelines, and practical training programs. In my experience, the first step is to develop and communicate the policies to all employees, in this employee’s should be in position to understand the business direction in regards to health and safety, the modes of communication may include awareness campaigns, trainings, tool box talks, employee engagement in the field.This will eventually change the behavior and transform the culture,very important is to digitize the HSE programs and eliminate administrative work.
