The first thing the private equity firm should do is to listen actively. When you’re sitting across the table understand their view point This person has poured years, of hard work, passion, and sacrifice into building their company. For them, this isn’t just a transaction; it’s a life-defining moment. So we must not only listen actively when they speak about their company but understand the emotions behind them.
