You need to be careful with what exactly you want to achieve with this project and measure it, showing them improvements. Don't take it too hard. It might take time until people understand its value.

Choose non-critical applications or processes to migrate to the cloud and monitor the outcomes closely. In line with specific training, it is paramount to create dedicated forums or weekly calls (cloud provider, partner/integrator and customer) to clarify questions and challenges the IT team might be facing. One way to overcome this challenge is creating a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) to centralize and retain this knowledge, define best practices and guidelines for the organization, train new-comers, and serve as a focal point for governance and cloud compliance, cost management, relationship with cloud provider, etc. The CCoE organization is also particularly useful on multi-cloud environments.
