Engagement with stakeholders is key. While we craft the communication strategy and deliverables, stakeholders often have to champion the message. They want a voice in what gets said, how and when. A few engagement ideas when developing your IC strategy: Dot exercise - put potential "IC content pillars" around the room and let the group vote on what's most important (e.g., strategy, wellness, culture and values). If key stakeholder help shape the foundation, they will better understand when their pet project isn't considered a top priority. Advance survey - prior to meeting, survey stakeholders to understand what's working and what's not and have an open discussion about it to gain greater insights.
Visual aids should complement your presentation, not overshadow it. Use slides or graphs sparingly and ensure they're clear and professional. Each visual should support your assertions and help clarify complex points. By seamlessly integrating visual aids into your presentation, you show that you're in command of the material and dedicated to providing a comprehensive understanding of the topic.
