Knowing about one segment eg wildlife, appreciating the facts honestly impartially and objectively, taking into account local social needs, developing a passion eg in my case for vulture conservation. Know everything there is to know about the reasons for population changes, conservation status, extinction of wildlife populations, timespan and the causes is vital. Ecotourism is so powerful as local populations appreciate the value of the wildlife to them, the importance of local communities in protecting them but also an understanding by the tourists and sharing the essential need to publicise the dramatic crisis and need for international support and understanding is essential.
