I have interviewed Educational Developers in the past and one thing I look for is whether or not they have attended the events hosted by the CTL. If not, it's not a dealbreaker, but it makes me wonder whether they 1) believe in continuous development; 2) believe in the value and work of the centre (who will be their colleagues); and 3) find ways to connect with their peers and colleagues as lifelong learners. In the same way, if you are reaching out to organizations to offer your services, it's important to know what they offer, and if you can speak to the experiences you've had with them, all the better. This won't always be possible, but I think it shows your genuine desire to work with/for them.
