In my experience, being specific shows self confidence and A type personality. I had an interview with a CEO of one company for the role of executive assitant to CEO. I cannot tell the name of the company due to confidentiality but can say that during an interview I was asked that "where I see my self in next 1 year and 5 years". If your answer is jumble up and over passionate, it will make you appear overkilling or someone who will not be having stability in their company. If the answer is with a very low tone, less passion or goals, it shows you are not confident. The best answer is specifically saying why you love this domain and because of that I want to see myself at one partifcular spot in this company where I make a difference.

It is important that you actually have a career plan :) most of the freshers go with 'bhai naukri mil jayein bas' approach. You are expected to plan to the T but at least portray that you want to give as much value as you can and learn as much as you can. Being a fresher, that should your focus area for the first three years.

Be specific about aspirations and how you intend to work towards getting there. Balance ambition with realism. The career goals need to be attainable and flexible if need be. Most of all, do not give a textbook / AI / Internet based answer for this question. These goals have to be tailor made and subjective. A false statement about career goals (just to fit in) can turn out to be very wrong in medium to long term.
