Keep it simple. My advice as an expert is to keep it simple, because accounting is simple. Excel sheets must also be simple so that they are clear to all stakeholders. Keep it simple is the best advice for financials, whether you are an accountant or CFO. Actually, the Cash Flow Planning that I use in Excel is nothing more than some pluses and minuses. But the spreadsheet does calculate the outlook, so that I know whether I will still have enough cash in the future. It's just like bookkeeping, it's so simple. That's why you have to keep it simple. But don't send it in Excel format to stakeholders. Convert it to PDF, otherwise they will mess around with it. Send in PDF. Also prevents problems when they say they can't open it.
