I follow the user-centered design process, which involves stimulating functionalities and engaging our users by paying attention to intuitive navigation and further enhancing the solution based on continuous user feedback.

In my opinion, conducting thorough user research to understand your audience, then applying innovative design elements like interactive animations and unconventional layouts to capture attention. Personalizing the user experience based on behavior and preferences, simplifying navigation by decluttering and focusing on essential elements of the interface and using intuitive icons and clear workflows can significantly improve engagement and usability with the software tools in question.

As an engineer, irrespective of any stream, a product will have a good user experience when the time taking to complete its lifecycle is less. In software development, user experience (UX) should be designed in such a way that user will make minimal use of mouse/trackpad. Personally I feel this point the most initial and basic point every UX developer should consider. Small things like proper development of components to iterate list or next item using tab index, adding shortcut keys, easy navigation between components (using keyboard itself), adding loaders between transitions, etc. generates a strong impact. Additionally, one important point to be considered is to depict the product flow in clear and informative way with minimal UI. ☺

Enhance UX/UI design by empathizing with users and sketching multiple concepts. Use color psychology, microinteractions, and innovative navigation. Leverage whitespace, prototype iteratively, and stay current with design trends and accessibility standards.

There is inspiration everywhere, not only in the digital realm. For new insights on UI/UX design, as a developer, investigate daily objects, architecture, and the natural world. Consider form, flow, and function when creating your designs. Diverse disciplines can provide creative layouts and interactions that delight users by incorporating aspects from other disciplines.

Seeking inspiration should be an async operation of every creative personal which should run in the background. It is a subset of exploring things (observation) which needs creative and active mindset. We should be able to accept a fact that everything that revolves around us can provide us whatever we want which includes ux too. Nature is the best example of ux, we can seek inspiration from nature and make edge-cutting ux. As a ux developer, some points which should be focused while observing things are the ease-of-use, time taken to use/interact with it, trying out to observe its behavior in worst-case, how it is informative without using text rather applying indirect psychological techniques like using red color for danger and so on.

Iteration is key to refining user experience and interface design. Start with wireframes and prototypes to test your ideas early. Gather feedback from users and stakeholders, and use it to make informed adjustments. Iterate through multiple design versions, progressively enhancing functionality, aesthetics, and usability. Embrace a mindset of continuous improvement, understanding that each iteration brings you closer to an optimal design that meets user needs and expectations.

Animations are like creamy layer above the cake which is really needed to complete a software ux. Without animation, a software cannot be considered as a standard software. UX centric animations should be minimal and lightweight, ux centric animation means animation used for betterment of ux and not the ones used for making ui look better. Example: loaders, hover state, focus state, changing transition of fragment. Basic simple animation like expanding an accordion, clicking on a button which will carry out an async operation till then showing a loader, adding morph animation on size changing components. In web development, shadcn provides great components that comes with good ux centric animations and in mobile, material ui is one of them.

In the world of globalization, effectively using typography to create a brand identity is crucial for enhancing user experience and forming a meaningful connection with users. 1. Choose typefaces that reflect your brand’s personality. 2. Regularly update and refine typographic elements based on user interaction and emerging trends.

While I am on my journey to develop software, I observed that the ux of software is lot more affected by the breathable space i.e white space present on the screen. Consistent use of margin and padding are always ignored but they are the hidden reason which makes difference between a good and perfect ux. UX is like grammar which is must to make your communication impactful, in a same way ux will represent the software's communication power indirectly. We should be careful while adding ui fields like color, shadow, roundedness, contrast-ratio between foreground and background, typography consisteny. Recently, my manager taught me that a software with good ux but bad ui is still accepted but not the reverse. Hence, plan ux before development.
