In my experience devops can impact very positively for enhancing system performance. Only trick is if the transition to devops done right. Before start implementing all bells and whistles highly recommended to have a think about the current process, document then prepare a so detailed staged transitions plan to make small changes at a time. Put the priorities on the change that takes least about of effort. Set KPI to measure before and after impact. Rinse and repeat.
