Something I've seen work well is creating an intercompany competition, scoring each departments on their results with winners getting a free team lunch/voucher etc. For your intranet you could have a monthly Ask Me Anything (AMA) session where staff are able to ask you security questions. Helpful to promote security internally and position IT team as 'friendlies not foes'.

I might be jumping on the GenAI bandwagon, but the ability to ask security tooling, whether SIEM, FW, EDR, etc, natural language questions through an AI Assistant will democratise the skills needed in security. Organisations should begin to look at technology platforms which provide this greater customer experience through AI assistants, as this changes the profile of individuals in your team. Your more senior resources can be technically heavy, but the majority of work can start with an individual trained in a different field knowing how to ask questions of a platform.
