A BI project can be broken up into different release stages each meeting a specific mile-stones. Risk management about dependencies of each milestones should be mapped out, communicated with stakeholders and contingency plan should be prepared with clear effect on quality/results. Since BI projects typically required data input in form of surveys, data dump or stream- it important to create an input/output, with quality of results with error rate or confidence interval - all to be signed off with stakeholders at each stage.
