Started from the Super Schnäppchen through the old town, then along the Ems, to the Rietberg Ems lowlands, past the Antfängers mill. Back again along the Ems, past the Johanneskapelle (now completely restored) and Gut Rietberg.

We stopped off at Fränkis Hütte and drank delicious mulled wine outside in the wonderful weather. Slightly tipsy, we continued along the Heve. Fantastically beautiful. In the end, we ran out of time. We didn't want to stand in the dark in the forest 😁. We also didn't have time to climb the Möhnesee…

Strasbourg is the Christmas capital, with over 2 million visitors flocking to the old town every year. The houses are richly decorated. For over a month, Strasbourg exudes a unique atmosphere. The city is a feast for the eyes with Europe's oldest Christmas market.

The old town is amazing. Great alleyways. The old half-timbered houses are lovingly decorated for Christmas. There is a competition to see who has decorated the most beautifully during the day and in the evening. The mulled wine there only costs 3.50 euros and tastes really delicious.

Today we explored the Freiburg Christmas market. We were absolutely thrilled by the old town, with its many small alleys that were waiting to be discovered. There were many small, unknown shops. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to explore them. Highly recommended. Conclusion: We will definitely be back.

We set off from the Oerlinghausen airfield in fantastic weather and hiked the Ochsentour. We even saw the forest elephant 😂😅. Unfortunately, we only saw the horses, aurochs and Scottish highland cattle from a distance. The cafe at the airfield is due to reopen in March 2025. That would be great.

Very impressive old industrial culture.
Always nice to visit Haxtergrund.
Unfortunately, some of the paths were so muddy that you would have needed rubber boots. Some locals knew these paths and were dressed accordingly. The cafe at Hamborn Castle was closed (company holidays) and we went into the Natura farm shop opposite. Very well stocked…
