Beautiful winter tour on well-known paths, but today with eye-pleasing ❄️❄️ remains and a consistently good view of the meandering Löcknitz. On the way we met @Heiner with a hiking companion, who was also very relaxed and walking in the opposite direction and we had a short chat.
The paths were surprisingly…

Unspectacular but surprisingly large castle ruins (approx. 200x70m) with plenty of bricks from the 14th century. Beautiful view of the valley, especially in winter, on the descent on the path directly along the property.

Short walk around the central square of the show mine with a 4km long mining educational trail and along the mining museum. The conveyor shaft frame is from 1888. Some mining machines are also accessible outside the museum area.
It is best to park in the mine's visitor parking lot. The wild free hiking…

We were lucky enough to see the pyramid beautifully covered in snow.
There are four of these pointed cone heaps as a result of mining in the wider Mansfeld region.
This Hohe Linde heap is now around 150 metres high and is the waste from the mining of copper slate in the Thomas Münzer shaft from 1944 to…

Relaxed stroll through the old half-timbered town on the Söse. Within the city walls and along the pedestrian zone, the houses stand close together, unaffected by the long standing period, the beams have always adapted, certainly also supported without fuss by the neighboring houses.
Others (in real estate…

A short, spontaneous walk through the Clausthal district. Everything that was important at the time is close together and practically next to each other...
The time tables in the main entrance to the TUC were lovely, marking the 250th anniversary of the founding of the important mining school. Lesson…

Small New Year's walk in the Wolfsbachtal, past the cozy Wolfsbachmühle to the big firs, which in the Harz dialect can also be spruces and are here.
We continue to the Hahnestein, a monument that used to stand in the shade of trees for Wilhelm Hahne's 70 years of work in the forest; erected during his…

Small, lovely winter tour on New Year's Eve, surrounded by still ice, trees with bizarre fruit clusters. Some trees can no longer bear the weight of the ice and spontaneously collapse with a whooshing noise and a clinking sound like crystals.
Nice to have met you at the stamping point @Nebelhexe - hope…

Round trip along the pond cascades of Buntenbock, as part of the Upper Harz water system for mining. On the banks, over dams and along ditches, the engineering skills from around 1630 onwards for collecting and distributing water for the waterworks and stamping mills in the CLZ area can still be seen…
A sun-filled tour from the dripping winter to the pre-pre-spring. It was still frosty at the start and today, thanks to yesterday's fog, there were beautiful winter landscapes in the backlight in Wuhlheide. As the sun rose, everything was gone and there were a lot more people on the other side of the…
