Here is the complete recording of today's tour with the cell phone.

It was a wonderful tour. First to Malchow and from there north past Fleesensee and Kölpiner See. After leaving Malchow, we first went across open fields, then through wonderful deciduous forests with beeches, oaks, alders and everything

  • Komoot included a few breaks in the movement time - probably when I was in a shop and hadn't stopped the recording. Actual net travel time: 2h10'

  • Yesterday I saw a warning sign for the first time about a steep incline. But I thought it was justified in that place. It was a downhill gradient of about 7% on a slightly slippery surface (paved forest path) and at the end there was a very tight hairpin bend. I needed some riding skills

That could actually be one of the places mentioned if it was in the northeast of the Müritz. And it's true, the path around the Müritz is very well developed. On many other marked (unpaved) cycle paths, however, you need a certain level of bike control because of the many roots and, above all, the sand.

The authorities put up the "cyclists dismount" sign when they don't dare to ban flat-wheeled cycling, but know that the area is not designed in accordance with regulations (too narrow, railing too low). They use the sign to evade liability.

Actually, they are never liable. Someone has made up a rule that a dangerous area that violates the rules can and must only be defused if at least three accidents with identical sequences of events have occurred within a year. Many accidents with supposedly different causes do not count.
