Kinderdijk (Património Mundial da UNESCO)

Nowhere in the Netherlands can you find so many windmills together as in Kinderdijk. The nineteen mills have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Museum Mill Nederwaard has been greeting visitors from all over the world for decades. Built in 1738, but still in excellent condition. See, hear and feel for yourself how the Nederwaard Museum Mill is still turning smoothly almost three centuries after its construction. Winter is also ideal for a day trip to our iconic windmills.

In 1997, the windmills in Kinderdijk were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The windmills of Kinderdijk are a unique ensemble. They were built to keep the lower lying areas of the Alblasserwaard dry. They form a typical Dutch picture.
