At low tide you can walk up to the short pier to get a different view. it seems like a lot of hassle but it is easy to walk. Always watch where you are walking of course.

a lovely short walk

Even when the weather is nice, long trousers are nice, as there is a lot of hogweed along the route. Furthermore, it is a beautiful route. We were there at low tide so we could easily walk onto the pier, a nice place to sit in the middle of the Oude Maas and watch the large (push) boats pass by.
