The hiking trail meanders along the densely wooded shore. In between there are always small bathing spots and beautiful views of the Flakensee.

The Flakensee is an inland body of water east of Berlin in the Oder-Spree district. It is part of the Rüdersdorf Waterways federal waterway, which is used primarily to transport cement from the Rüdersdorf cement works to Berlin and Poland.
The Flakensee has its inflow from the north from the Kalksee via the Kalkfliess and in the southeast via the Löcknitz. It has its outflow to the southwest via the Flakenfliess through Erkner to the Dämeritzsee. At the southern end of the limestone flow is the Woltersdorf lock with a drop of 2.10 metres. In the north of the Flakensee lies the municipality of Woltersdorf, in the south the town of Erkner.
In addition to shipping, the 67-hectare body of water with a maximum depth of 8 meters is primarily used for water sports and as a bathing lake.

It runs best from the last stop of the Woltersdorf tram towards Erkner and then to the S-Bahn for the return journey.
