At over 300 years old, the mighty oak was a well-known landmark of the Palatinate Forest. In 1994, the oak tree was so severely injured by unknown persons with a chainsaw that the tree died despite all attempts to save it. In 2010 the oak had become so rotten that it had to be felled. Today the tree stands as a memorial in its former place and can still give you a sense of its size and age.

Over 300 years old oak on which until 1974 the May holidays of the PWV took place.

Memorial for natural monument vandals ... in the meantime, although a new oak tree is in place, it still needs a few days to become as impressive as her big brother.
