This exciting park, designed by Prince Pückler-Muskau, covers an area of ​​100 hectares. So, about 200 football fields would fit in! Odd mountains and pyramids rise between landscaped gardens. The Baroque Castle houses a collection of paintings by Carl Blechen and the Fürst Pückler Museum. Incidentally, the prince and his wife have chosen the water pyramid as the final resting place.
From May to October you can always invite your loved ones for a gondola ride on the first Sunday of Monday. The rides start on the flower lake and then lead on the artificial waterways through the park.
The landscape park is rightly since 2004 to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.

The former forester's lodge is picturesque and secluded in the middle of the forest on the banks of Lake Hammersee. In the former forester's lodge you will now find an inn where you can also spend the night. In the morning you will be woken up by the call of the jay and the knocking of the woodpeckers.

A highlight in the region

You go through the pine forest, past meadows, cross train tracks and get to the lake.
On the east side is a popular free beach with playground and toilets. Further down there must have been something like a summer camp, which is now decaying.

The Schervenzsee belongs to the municipality of Siehdichum. The name alone reveals a lot. Yes, it is worth looking around here! The clear and calm bathing lake is idyllically embedded in the forest and is decorated with water lilies in some places. An enchanted path leads around the Schervenzsee. On the shore you meet anglers and some people row across the lake. Affiliated is a campsite on which many long-term campers have their little houses or mobile homes under pine trees. You can get to the campsite and the lake by bus. However, this does not run very often.

The opencast mining in the Lower Lusatia have already fallen victim to several villages. For some it means relocation and for the others a job. If you have the opportunity to take an aerial view, you get an impression of the gigantic dimensions of the mining areas.
To take a look for yourself, you can e.g. Take the bus line 886 from Spremberg to Welzow. From the station you have to walk about half an hour on foot to open pit. Another good vantage point is coming from Neupetershain.

There are no chimneys in Schwarze Pumpe since 1995 (but steaming cooling towers), but two viewpoints at a height of 163m, from which you can even see the Giant Mountains in good weather conditions.

The Schlaubetal absolutely lives up to its reputation. The Schlaube transforms this valley with its green and blue tones into an enchanted fairytale forest. Away from the asphalt, you walk along leaf-covered paths, sandy forest paths and past moss-covered banks. A dream best enjoyed in late summer/autumn.

The Bremsdorfer Mill was severely damaged by fire in May 2022. The owner currently offers a small gastronomic offer on the terrace in the summer months.
