The Bebenhausen Monastery is still idyllically situated in a clearing in Schönbuch, a large forest south of Stuttgart. Parts of the medieval monastery were converted into a castle in the 19th century, in which the last royal couple in Württemberg later retired.

Bebenhausen Monastery was a Cistercian monastery in Bebenhausen. After the Reformation, the monastery buildings served as a monastery school, hunting lodge for the kings of Württemberg and as the seat of the state parliament of the state of Württemberg-Hohenzollern.
