Location: Quendorf, Grafschaft Bentheim, Lower Saxony, Germany
The Bentheimer Forest landscape conservation area of 793 ha is one of the three largest semi-natural forests in western Lower Saxony. Deciduous forest communities predominate in the area, mostly growing on moist to partially wet locations. It mainly comprises near-natural oak-hornbeam forests on sites dampened with water, in places with transitions to oak-beech forests and beech forests with holly.

Remnants of the old Hutewald are still standing here. Unfortunately, the ancient tree veterans are now dying. Even as fallen giants, they still offer great photo opportunities.

Great connection route between Bad Bentheim and Schüttorf.
4km of beautiful, very interesting forest paths, also easy to ride by bike!
