In 1920, the Augsburg Post Office acquired the "Mayr Houses" on the corner of Katharinenstrasse and Von-Kühlmann-Strasse in Landsberg. A year later, after the two corner houses were merged and a terrace extension was built for the counter hall, the post office moved in. The post office has been based there ever since, and the intersection in front of it is called "Postberg". But from 2026, the exact date is not yet known, the post office at the location will be history. The Postbank, which has rented its premises on the ground floor, is closing its branch. This means that Deutsche Post will also have to look for a new partner for its postal and parcel services.
