The Kop van Zuid is a district in Rotterdam built from 1994 onwards, located on the south bank of the Nieuwe Maas opposite the city centre. The district consists of the Wilhelminapier and the V bordered by the Rosestraat / Rotterdam-Dordrecht railway line on the one hand and the Hilledijk / Hillestraat / Rijnhaven on the other. The Kop van Zuid was built on former, disused harbour areas around the Binnenhaven, Entrepothaven, Rijnhaven, Spoorweghaven and the Wilhelminapier. These harbour areas, together with the Nieuwe Maas, created a large physical distance between the centre north of the Maas and Rotterdam-Zuid. By transforming this area into an urban area and by creating good connections, an attempt is being made to unite North and South. Source: nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kop_van_Zuid

The towers next to the KPN building (the low building on the left) is "De Rotterdam". Former tallest building in the Netherlands.

Kop van Zuid, the head of South (Rotterdam). Rebuilt after the devastating air raid on Rotterdam in 1940. Old meets new. Very interesting!
