Capela do Senhor da Pedra

The Capela do Senhor da Pedra, in Miramar, Vila Nova de Gaia, stands on a rock by the sea. Three centuries old, this Marian sanctuary replaced an old pagan temple. Every year, a pilgrimage takes place in his honor, attracting pilgrims from far and wide. Local legends enrich its history, attributing miraculous origins to its construction and location. The chapel offers an extraordinary view of the beach, being considered one of the most beautiful in Europe by "European Best Destinations".
