Best Hiking Routes to Stiemerbeek ponds

Tips

  • If you enter the Hoge Kempen National Park at the Waterschei mine and slag heap, you are actually walking in and around various nature reserves. A nature reserve where work is still being done is the Stiemerbeek Valley. You can read all about it on an information board and stand between various pools. The Stiemerbeek has its source nearby, at the mine site, and forms this valley before flowing into the Demer. By the way, you are here on As territory, instead of Waterschei.
