Bulnes de Arriba, Bulnes El Pueblu (as it says on a sign at its entrance) or Bulnes el Castillo, is a beautiful neighborhood of Bulnes where its typical stone houses are being restored, on top of a rock and which barely has a street for the one to walk and a few meters, but it does not take away its precious views of the Texu canal or the spectacular nature of the peaks that surround it. You can climb more comfortably along a track from Bulnes de Abajo or from a steep path that is difficult to tread if the weather is somewhat adverse on the other side of the town.

The higher Bulnes de Arriba is much quieter than the lower Bulnes de Abajo - if you just walk from the funicular to the viewpoint on the Naranjo de Bulnes and back again, you won't get past this and will miss a very beautiful, original small mountain village.
Coming from Bulnes de Abajo, the place begins as a Lost Place, the lower houses are (still?) dilapidated - but not smeared or littered. If you come around the left-hand bend at the entrance to the town, however, a different picture emerges and you look at El Caleyon, which is said to be a very good guesthouse and restaurant in a well-preserved (or restored) old house in front of a fantastic mountain backdrop - why am I here no night booked? From here, most of the houses seem to be inhabited, one has just been restored.

Bulnes de Arriba, El Castillo, under a large limestone mountain, in the Picos de Europa National Park. Excellent routes.
