This spring was discovered in 1807, the fountain pavilion was built in 1909, and it has only been called the Goethe Fountain since 1949.

Of course, Goethe was here, too. He contributed to the design of the spa town, stayed here even to relax and took a rest on his trips to Ilmenau.
