On the 599m high Lerchenberg there is an 81m high telecommunications tower. There are also non-public underground bunkers on the site.

There is a beautiful view from up here. The Lerchenberg radio station, a telecommunications facility from the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior, is located in the fenced-in area. The radio networks of the police, fire brigade and civil protection for the country are coordinated here.
