With the so-called "Bumannsburg" in Bergkamen-Rünthe, the remains of a 5-hectare wall castle complex have been preserved to date, which apparently already played a role in the Saxon Wars of Charlemagne from AD 772 to 802. It belongs to the group of multi-period plants in Westphalia. The traces of the plant can still be seen on the terrain today. Particularly striking are the high earth walls, which differ significantly in height and width from the flat surrounding terrace area of the Lippe.
