Beautiful semi-open cave of course. The view from the nearby Eulenberg should not be missed either.

The cave is named after the giant Kakus, a figure from Roman mythology. Exactly how it came about that this legendary figure from Lazio crossed the Alps into the Eifel remains uncertain.
Volume three "In the realm of the matrons" of the book series "Sagenhaft Eifel! Adventures in a fantastic region" by Christian Humberg takes place in the triangle of Nettersheim (with the well-known temple of the matrons), Steinfeld (with the no less famous monastery) and the Kakus cave. In the latter, the exciting finale takes place with the giant Kakus and the teenage heroes of the book series.
