Strabrechtse Heide

The light birch plantations, which soon take us in behind fences, are already sunnier and give us a foretaste of the heat to be expected in the open landscape of the Strabrechtser Heide, which we only touch to the east; however, we have the feeling that not much will change in the heather further west.
Impressive expanse; Erika, the heather, is blooming in a delicate purple color; the impression of the relative absence of insects is deceptive; if we bend down into the heather microcosm, there is a huge buzzing and whirring - close to the ground.
