A museum about Heinrich Schliemann. In ten themed rooms, personal documents, photos and diary entries, quotes and contemporary witnesses show Heinrich Schliemann as a person, the multi-millionaire, progressive scientist and archaeologist, self-taught and cosmopolitan (source: Schliemann Museum, Ankershagen).

The museum is dedicated to the life and research of Heinrich Schliemann. The archaeologist was particularly known for his research on Troy. The museum is located in his former parents' house, which is an 18th century rectory.
The museum is a nice place to take a break as there is also a café on the premises with snacks. In summer you can sit outside very nicely.
In summer the museum is open every day (except Monday) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In winter it is also closed on Sundays. The opening times are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the week and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Admission costs 4 euros for adults.

A visit is a must when in the area. A very nice facility overall.
