The castle was built between 1902 and 1905 on behalf of Jan Jacob Luden from Heumen. The architects were Oscar and Henri Leeuw from Nijmegen.
The proud building has been a cultural monument since 2001. It is lavishly decorated in early Dutch Art Nouveau style and has a particularly beautiful stained glass window. The estate is the property of the association 'Natuurmonumenten'. Since 1986 it has been used as a hotel restaurant.
