Inconceivable today:
There used to be road traffic without traffic lights.
As early as 1900, density and speed were becoming dangerous in cities - technical solutions were sought.
The first experiments with light signals failed dramatically.
On December 10, 1868, a gas-powered signal system was set up on the square in front of Parliament in London (with the colors that are still valid today):
